Dr. David Chance has a unique combination of clinical knowledge and experience combined with a solid foundation in functional and technical healthcare informatics. He is a certified Project Management Professional who has been involved in healthcare informatics for more than thirty years.  Dr. Chance is also a licensed, board certified prosthodontist with over forty years’ experience in all aspects of clinical dentistry, specialty level dental education, research, publication, dental management and application and integration of new technologies into dental and medical clinical practice. His unique qualifications and experience have been acquired through rigorous healthcare education and advanced training and certification as well as many years of leading and managing healthcare information technology programs in the Federal and private industry sectors. 

As a clinician Dr. Chance incorporated the latest technological innovations to improve health care.  He initiated, designed and acquired the first hospital-based 3-dimensional medical modeling system in the United States and the first custom cast titanium implant system in the Department of Defense. These programs were accomplished by assembling multi-disciplinary medical/dental/administrative teams whose goal was to improve patient care and outcomes and laid the foundation for additional research and funding to support continued technological advances. 

Dr. Chance was chosen to lead an interdisciplinary DoD healthcare team comprised of physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other health professionals along with Government and industry subject matter experts for the design, development and deployment of the next generation electronic healthcare record which was deployed to all DoD healthcare facilities worldwide.

Upon retirement from active duty, Dr. Chance continued to serve healthcare in the private sector providing direct support for Federal IT healthcare organizations, especially the Department of Defense Military Health System.  He has a wealth of corporate experience in the management, engineering and training areas of Healthcare IT systems and had primary responsibility for creating proposals and leading teams to capture over $200 million in contracts in these areas.
